We are looking for a Residence Manager for IRA Apartments in Briarwood, Queens, NY!

ANIBIC, Inc. provides services to adults with Intellectual Disabilities. The individuals live in various apartments that are a mix of supportive and supervised programs. They are very independent but need assistance to ensure they are living out their dreams and have an exceptional quality of life as independently as possible!

Position Summary:

The Residential Manager is responsible for ensuring that adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive quality services in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations and best practices. The Residential Manager leads an Interdisciplinary Team and ensures operational effectiveness through ongoing performance management, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives. As a pivotal member of ANIBIC’s Management team, the Residence Manager provides support toward ANIBIC’s strategic organizational goals, including but not limited to those related to retention and succession planning efforts.

The Manager's Job Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Coach, mentor, train, evaluate and supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSP), Assistant Manager, and other team members.
  • Proactively manage the day-to-day operations and initiate corrective actions to ensure operational efficiencies and quality care.
  • Complete, maintain and submit accurate records and reports (ie. payroll, incident reports, financial ledgers, performance data regarding participants, meeting minutes, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Serve as the Interdisciplinary Team Leader and participate in all necessary program-planning meetings.
  • Ensure the IRA is maintained and presents a safe and home-like environment
  • Role-model and perform all aspects of participant’s program plans and demonstrate techniques to residence staff.
  • Coordinate community inclusion and recreational plans.
  • Professionally represent the organization when interacting with all internal and external stakeholders (ie. employees, participant families, vocational programs, etc.) with a positive customer-service orientation.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and scheduling.
  • Successfully complete and ensure that all staff receive required trainings e.g. AMAP, CPR, First Aid, etc.
  • Plan, organize, facilitate and oversee individual programming and community inclusion activities.
  • Support management and nursing staff in ensuring operational efficiency and quality care.

This opportunity is PERFECT for someone who:

  • Has management / leadership experience serving people with disabilities
  • Has experience as a Direct Support Professional and who wants to gain valuable management and leadership experience.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's Liscence (Driving the ANIBIC mini-van is required for appointments and leisure activities).
  • Must have experience providing services to people with Intellectual Disabilities in a OPWDD Certified residential program.
  • Must have knowledge and experience working within OPWDD regulations
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in human services, pyschology, or other related field).
  • Effective supervisory / leadership experience.

Preferred (Not Necessary) Qualifications:

  • Supervisory / leadership experience while serving people with Intellectual Disabilities
