\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state\n
• Minimum 1 year of recent emergency room nursing experience required\n
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred\n
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification\n
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification\n
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification\n
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification\n
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification\n

\n\nER Nurse Responsibilities\n

\n
• Assess and triage patients’ physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs in the emergency room\n
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans with the interdisciplinary healthcare team\n
• Perform therapeutic and diagnostic interventions: IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection\n
• Advocate for patient health, safety, and rights in the ER setting\n
• Educate patients and families, assess learning readiness, and evaluate effectiveness of teaching\n
• Deliver culturally competent, relationship-based care to diverse patient populations\n
• Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel per Kansas state and hospital policy\n
• Serve as a professional role model, mentor, and preceptor for new staff and nursing students\n
• Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and clinical research initiatives\n
• Maintain professional records and pursue continuing education to ensure clinical competency\n
