Emergency Department RN – Critical Access Hospital\n\nRadius Rule: 50 miles (permanent address required with submission)\n\nUnit: Emergency Department\nBeds: 10 + 2 Trauma Bays\nFast Track: No\nTriage: Dedicated triage room – travelers will triage\nER Holds: Intermixed\nPsych Room: 1 safe room (sitters available)\nSecurity: 1 guard on-site 24/7 (may be absent if illness/call-out)\n\nPatient Volume & Ratios\n\nAvg Patients/Day: 35\n\nRN Ratios: 1:4\n\nRequirements\n\nCertifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC\nExperience: 2 years preferred; well-rounded ER background\nCommon Patients: Peds & adults; chest pain, abdominal pain, SOB, lacerations, STEMI/stroke (stabilize & ship), walk-in trauma, military patients\nDrips: Procedural sedation, TNK, typical ER drips\n\nStaffing & Support\n\nProviders: 1 MD 24/7 | 1 APP (12p–8p)\n\nCharge RN: 24/7 (no assignment)\n\nHouse Supervisor: Nights\n\nCNA: 1 on shift; sitters on-call\n\nRT: 24/7 (ABGs, treatments, EKG support)\n\nTelemetry: RNs read strips | SpaceLabs monitors\n\nImaging: X-ray & CT; radiology transports unless critical\n\nLab Draws: RN primarily; phlebotomy assists as needed\n\nScheduling\n\nShifts: 12-hour shifts: 7–7 | Additional RN 12p–12:30a\n\nTravelers: Scheduled where needed; nights grouped when possible\n\nWeekends: 4 per 6-week period\n\nHolidays: As needed\n\nCall: None\n\nFloating: None\n\nScrubs: Any color\n\nOrientation: 2 days
