We are actively seeking a Compensation Analyst to join our human resources team. This position supports and administers various pay programs across the organization including:

  •   base pay programs
  •   variable pay programs
  •   pay policies
  •   ad hoc compensation projects and programs

    This position plays a pivotal role in evaluating market competitiveness by managing compensation surveys and benchmarking reviews; and providing analytical support to client groups. In this role, you will play a key role in managing our compensation systems and recommending new enhancements to meet business needs.

    Responsibilities include:

  •   Support annual compensation processes and programs including merit planning, incentive planning, sales incentive design and administration, and pay equity analysis.
  •   Manage the market pricing system and compensation survey participation process. Conduct benchmarking and competitive analysis to ensure our compensation structures and programs are competitive and aligned with industry standards.
  •   Partner with HR and technology teams to ensure that HRIS system and compensation software meet the needs of Securian’s pay structures and programs.
  •   Assist Compensation Consultants on a variety of compensation projects including job evaluations, comprehensive pay analyses, etc.
  •   Prepare meaningful reports and training tools to enhance pay insights and enable informed pay decision- making.
  •   Evaluate and maintain pay policies to ensure they are compliant with internal and external standards and recommend/ implement revisions, as needed.
  •   Stay abreast market trends including new pay trends, regulatory changes, industry trends, and other hot compensation topics.

    Securian Financial believes in hybrid work as an integral part of our culture. Associates get the benefit of working both virtually and in our offices. If you’re in a commutable distance (90 minutes) you’ll join us 2-3 days each week in our offices to collaborate and build relationships. Our policy allows flexibility for the reality of business and personal schedules. When working in our offices at least two days per week isn’t feasible (vacations, illness, travel, etc.), an eight day per month standard is an option.

    Desired Experience:

  •   3+ years with experience in Compensation, HR Analytics, and/or HRIS (or related discipline)
  •   Solid understanding of compensation principles and market pricing fundamentals
  •   Knowledge of federal and state regulations including FLSA and various pay laws such as minimum wage and pay transparency requirements.
  •   Strong analytical skills with ability to utilize resources to solve problems
  •   Strong organization skills with a commitment to accuracy and details
  •   Effective skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  •   Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization

    Preferred Experience:

  •   Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience​
  •   Workday experience helpful, but not required
  •   Market pricing experience, particularly with a tool such as BetterComp, MarketPay, Pay Factors, or CompAnalyst

    Physical Job Requirements:

  •   Ability to utilize the keyboard, computer and/or mouse for up to 8 hours per day
  •   Ability to work at least 40 hours per week
  •   Ability to utilize the phone and/or virtual meeting platform for 1-4 hours per day
