Robotics Technician | Kentwood, MI

Salary Range: $55,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial robotic systems.
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and software issues in robotic cells.
Execute repairs, including component replacement and system adjustments, to minimize production downtime.
Assist with the installation, calibration, and setup of new robots and peripheral equipment.
Program and adjust robot paths, speeds, and I/O logic using teach pendants and HMI.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure all robotic operations adhere to established safety protocols.
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications accurately.

Recommended Qualifications

Associate's degree or technical certification in Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related engineering technology field.
2+ years of hands-on experience with industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and HMI systems.
Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex robotic and automation equipment.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience with industrial vision systems.
Proficiency in robot simulation software.
Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, PROFINET).
Experience contributing to or developing preventative maintenance programs for robotic systems.
