We are seeking a highly motivated Senior HR Generalist to join the team! This position will be traveling between our Riverside office and San Marcos office. Significant Duties:

  • Serve as a resource on human resources issues, effectively communicates company policies and procedures to all staff and field employees.
  • Acts as liaison between employee and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices and regulations.
  • Oversees the extended leave or interactive process with associates and work in conjunction with other units who support accommodations related to returns from leave. Oversees and handles complex leave of absence issues.
  • Responsible for reviewing guidelines for eligibility resulting in accurate eligibility decisions. Will handle more complex leave cases requiring the use of sound judgement, based on knowledge, skills, and prior experience.
  • Develop training material for training sessions on subject matter topics, such as superintendent training, rest meal break, I-9.
  • Responds to questions and concerns and channels the appropriate resource.
  • Maintains accurate records and reporting of employee leaves in full legal compliance.
  • Collect and analyze human resources data and make recommendations for changes to management.
  • Obtains and reviews updated medical evidence of reason for leave upon receipt for assigned claims.
  • Develops, generates, and presents reports to analyze leave data and trends including current leaves, returns from leaves, and intermittent leave implications (pay, benefits, return to work, etc.).
  • Manage integration of leaves (i.e. Workman’s compensation with FMLA) and integration with other functions (benefits during LOA, payroll, etc.).
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Responsible for running evaluation reports, and communicating with all levels of management on tracking performance evaluation due date
  • Responsible for processing all staff changes, i.e. Change in title, promotions, including benefits changes as needed, salary changes.
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations issues and help foster an effective, productive, progressive and positive manager/employee “Winning Team” environment. Drafting closure letters.
  • Assist with all logistics related to the annual Open Enrollment process.
  • Assist with questions related to health and welfare benefits, including aiding employees in enrolling in their benefits during the annual open enrollment period or during a life event change (e.g. new hire, birth of child).
  • Oversee DocuSign, ensure that Departments’ templates are updated as needed
  • Believes in and champions 20/20’s core values and inspires others to do the same.
  • Assist with year-end processes.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources Management, or Psychology.
  • 5+ years HR experience, including employee relations, performance management, leave of absence, and benefits administration.
  • Excellent verbal/ written communications skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex content and documents.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate complex information in a straightforward, understandable manner.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in Spanish is required
  • Working understanding state and federal employment laws, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and ADA.
  • Computer proficient with HRIS experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills are required, as are skills with all Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive questions and complaints.
  • Ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Must be able to use critical thinking to effectively solve human resource issues.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Discreet in handling confidential/sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Self-motivated and follows the direction of supervisors, but also able to work without constant direct supervision.

Physical Requirements:

The position of Senior HR Generalist requires that you are able to lift objects that weight up to 15 pounds, squat, kneel, twist, bend, and work above head and below waist.Ability to sit long periods, stand, walk, climb stairs and use of hands, fingers, wrists, and arms. May occasionally travel to jobsites for a walkthrough and would require the ability to walk on uneven unclean terrain for several hours.
