Job DescriptionJoin Sellen’s Team. Come Build with Us. The Payroll Accountant Lead is responsible for the in-house processing of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for all union and non-union employees. This role ensures payroll accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as with multiple union contract requirements. It requires an advanced understanding of payroll regulations, application of collective bargaining agreements, and the ability to produce accurate reports. You will serve as the primary point of contact for daily payroll-related inquiries, resolving issueswith internal departments and external stakeholders. This role will partner with the Payroll Manager to manage team workflows and task assignments to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet multiple hard deadlines are essential for success in this role. The position is located in South Lake Union full-time, 5 days a week, from 7am-4pm. Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of work experience and education.
- 5-10 years of progressive and relevant payroll experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in construction or manufacturing accounting, with a strong background in managing union payrolls.
- Multi-state payroll experience.
- Certified payroll experience.
- FPC or CPP Certifications.
KNOWLEDGE
- Expertise with Microsoft Windows and the full suite of applications in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Viewpoint or similar fully integrated accounting systems,including a comprehensive understanding of payroll’s impact on the general ledger andjob cost accounting.
- Advanced working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Advanced working knowledge of payroll reporting requirements.
- Strong working knowledge of employment rules including overtime, taxable and non-taxable benefits, etc.

The full salary range for this position is $39/hr to $50/hr. New hires typically start between $39/hr to $46/hr, depending on direct professional experience and qualifications.
