Job DescriptionSalary:
Filamatic is an OEM of industrial liquid filling and packaging machinery and has a great opportunity for a CNC Machinist to join our organization. In this role you will support the team by manufacturing parts and tooling on a variety of industrial machines using blueprints, sketches and or verbal direction to make sure our production team has the needed parts to build the machinery within the target deadlines and specifications. In addition, you will be working closely with our sales team to fulfill our continual orders of spare parts for our customers.
As a CNC Machinist you will follow standard departmental procedures to manufacture various parts and assemblies for machines according to specifications - ensuring work orders are completed on time and meeting our high-quality standards. As a Machinist you must be able to read and work from blueprints as well as set up and operate a variety of CNC Machinery including mills and lathes. You should also be able to work with CAD/CAM programming systems.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate various equipment and CNC machinery including lathes, milling machines, grinder, and more to minimize downtime and errors in parts production.
- Manufacture parts on various machines from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to meet/expedite delivery and ensure quality production.
- Design fixtures, tooling, and parts to meet machining requirements.
- Measure and examine completed parts to ensure it meets specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work with CAD/CAM programming systems.
- Work schedule: First Shift Monday Friday 40 hours per week. We have some flexibility in start time; we want consistency in the schedule though. Typically starting between 6:00 am and 8:00 am and then working an 8.5-hour schedule to accommodate for a 30-minute lunch.
Qualifications
- Ability to read drawings, schematics, sketches and understand oral instructions.
- Good understanding of all machine shop principles.
- Thorough knowledge of cutting tools such as end mills, boring bars, drills, taps, slitting saws, and turning tools / inserts.
- Ability to edit and troubleshoot programs using G-code.
- Ability to set up and operate CNC lathes and CNC machining centers.
- Proficient in use of precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, scales, indicators, etc.
- Sound basic math skills including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Ability to interpret technician drawings and geometric drawings.
- Ability to set up and operate a full range of machines and equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
- Ability to measure (where and how) using proper tools.
- Proficiency in use of CAD/CAM software.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements
- Job requires standing, working with hands and lifting up to 50 pounds 25% of the time; walking, sitting, talking/hearing, climbing/balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; reaching with hands or arms.
Environmental Conditions
- Job works near/with moving mechanical parts and machine shop equipment more than 75% of the time; sharp edges/parts and emission of liquid approximately 50% of the time.
- Noise level is for a typical of machine shops.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour

Eligibility for insurance and 401K is the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
