Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1+ years Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position seeks a skilled educator specializing in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing for a K-12 school setting. The role is itinerant, requiring travel to multiple school sites within the Aurora, CO area to provide direct service and support to students across various locations.
Key responsibilities include managing a caseload of 16 students ranging in age from early childhood through 21 years old. The teacher will deliver tailored instruction and support designed to meet individual student needs, collaborating with families, school staff, and related service providers. Ensuring pliance with Colorado Department of Education (CDE) standards and maintaining all required documentation will be essential.
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Valid CDE licensure specific to Deaf/Hard of Hearing teaching endorsement
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing across early childhood through young adulthood
- Ability to develop individualized education plans and implement appropriate instructional strategies
- Strong munication and collaboration skills for working with diverse teams and students with varying hearing needs
