Job Title: Machine Builder

Job Description

This position contributes to the manufacturing of quality blow molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and all sub-assemblies using power and hand tools, precision tools, and any other required equipment. The role ensures compliance with safety standards and the production of items to established quality and quantity specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and company safety standards.
  • Build or manufacture according to drawing and bill of material, ensuring production quality and quantity are met.
  • Proficiently use precision measuring equipment.
  • Assist in the training of employees as needed.
  • Provide phone or site consultation to customers/vendors when necessary.
  • Perform maintenance/repair of building/installed equipment or new equipment as assigned.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and ensure good housekeeping for safe operations.
  • Assist in other departments as temporary assignments arise.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineering, and production personnel to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Report shortages of parts, tools, and materials promptly.
  • Operate power equipment and material handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes.
  • Possess and use personal hand tools for task performance.
  • Use mainframe computer systems.
  • Develop specifications from general descriptions and draw sketches of parts or products to be manufactured.
  • Work with both metric and inch measurement systems.
  • Submit daily time accounting, payroll information, and other requested paperwork.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in blueprint reading, pneumatics, hydraulics, machine building, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to perform all equipment builds independently.
  • Capable of building hydraulic/pneumatic systems from schematics.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of machine start-up and troubleshooting.
  • Leadership qualities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Forklift license and crane safety certificate are nice to have.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $67704.00/yr.
