Position: Executive Legal Recruiter (In-House Placement)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid: 3 days in-office / 2 days remote)
Compensation: base salary + commission package

We are seeking a seasoned Executive Legal Recruiter to work directly onsite with one of our national law firm clients based in Pittsburgh. This strategic role focuses exclusively on attorney recruitment and will play a critical part in expanding the firm's legal talent pipeline in the Pittsburgh market.

Key Highlights:

  • Attorney-focused only – recruiting for lateral attorneys, associates, and government relations professionals.
  • No staffing or temp recruiting
  • Candidate must be based in Pittsburgh, with deep familiarity and connections within the local legal market
  • The role is ideal for recruiters coming from a law firm or legal staffing agency background
  • Travel required for meetings and candidate engagements

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop a nuanced understanding of the legal market—particularly in Pittsburgh and other priority areas in the firm’s strategic growth plan
  • Partner with internal stakeholders including Section Chairs, Office Heads, the Hiring Committee, and Firm Management to align recruitment with the firm's long-term vision
  • Strategize and execute candidate sourcing initiatives, leveraging networking, bar associations, social platforms, and direct outreach
  • Guide firm leadership on best practices for leveraging their networks and engaging lateral candidates
  • Use modern recruiting tools and AI-powered platforms to optimize sourcing and engagement
  • Assess candidate fit and viability before initiating formal interviews
  • Maintain relationships with prospects from first contact through offer acceptance
  • Collaborate with internal recruiting teams to ensure seamless communication and candidate experience
  • Build and manage a candidate pipeline database to track outreach and long-term recruiting goals

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 7 years in legal recruiting, preferably within a law firm or legal staffing agency
  • Strong grasp of recruiting strategy and legal industry trends
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal
  • Proven ability to manage and improve recruitment processes
  • Willingness to travel for meetings and interviews
