Siemens Mobility builds and maintains the systems that keep America moving. In our Lexington, NC locomotive truck overhaul shop, you’ll help transform worn equipment into reliable assets for our TSSSA customers—supporting safer, more dependable journeys.
Your mission
Own the mechanical reconditioning of locomotive trucks from teardown to final fitment. Apply precision, safety, and craftsmanship to every task, collaborating with a small, skilled team and reporting to the CS Production Manager.
How you’ll make an impact
- Deliver end-to-end overhaul work aligned to the production plan
- Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble components following Siemens work instructions
- Re-profile wheelsets using a cutting-edge wheel lathe when needed
- Use a pressure washer to prep components prior to inspection
- Operate overhead cranes and lifting devices to move trucks safely
- Partner with the warehouse to secure spares and materials
- Document every step with accuracy and maintain strong tool control
- Support shop housekeeping and other duties directed by Management, Supervisors, and Lead Technicians
What sets you up for success
- High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years in a predominantly mechanical environment
- Skilled with torque tools, measurement equipment, and appropriate PPE
- Comfort reading technical drawings/publications and authoring detailed technical reports
- Clear, professional communication in English
- Plus: railroad/overhaul exposure and crane/forklift experience
Schedule
1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

The base salary range for this position in Lexington, NC is $46,002 - $62,016. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
