As a Database Administrator - Expert, you will be supporting the North Carolina Department of Technology (NCDOT), under the direction of a data architect, to conduct data profiling, data analysis, data cleansing, database design, database implementation, data conversion, and data governance for the State's DMV data.
This is a hybrid role based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Responsibilities:
- Data analysis and database management
- Designing of data dictionaries, physical and logical database models, and performance tuning
- Creation of requirements for database, database schema, data maps, ERDs, application objects (i.e., tables, indexes, views, etc.)
- Creation of data rules to identify areas for data cleansing
- Conducting data profiling, data analysis, data cleansing, database design, database implementation, data conversion, and data governance for the State's DMV data
Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as without assistance
- Ability to manage highly complex work efforts
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to create logical and physical models of data to represent relationships and ensure data integrity
- Working knowledge of DB2 and SQL Server database management systems (DBMS)
- Understanding of data structures and schemas, and implementing appropriate indexes
- Understanding of the process of extracting data from various sources, transforming it, and loading it into a database
- Used of at least one data cleansing tool
- Ability to create and execute test cases
- Ability to identify and resolve issues within the data cleansing process
- Ability to dissect complex problems and derive insights from large datasets
