Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented MEP Cost Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) projects. This role requires a strong understanding of industry standards, building codes, and project management practices to ensure that our projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP projects including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs and analyze project specifications and blueprints.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop accurate project proposals.
- Utilize cost analysis to identify potential cost savings and value engineering opportunities.
- Assist in bid preparation and submissions for potential projects.
- Review and analyze contractor bids and proposals to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, building codes, and regulations affecting MEP projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a cost estimator, preferably in MEP projects.
- Strong understanding of contracts and negotiation techniques.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and other design software.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for cost analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
- Effective project management and scheduling skills.
