Patient Population: Pediatric Medically Complex Patients

Location: Texas Medical Center- 77030

Position Details:
Start Date: August 18, 2025
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Type of Opportunity/Length: 13-week contract with potential to hire

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Medical Assistant Certification – REQUIRED

• BLS Certification – REQUIRED

• At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant – REQUIRED

• Pediatric experience – REQUIRED

• EPIC experience – Preferred

• Bilingual in English/Spanish – Preferred

• Must hold one of the following certifications/registrations:

  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

  • Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)

  • Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Strong knowledge of medical assistant patient care tasks and terminology

• Experience in the managed care setting and appointment scheduling

• Proficiency with personal computers and basic office/clinic equipment

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Rooming and preparing patients for provider exams

• Collecting health histories and chief complaints

• Recording vital signs, BMI, and height/weight

• Administering immunizations and injections

• Documenting current medications and allergies

• Collecting patient specimens for lab testing

• Processing prescription refills

• Maintaining room supply levels

• Coordinating patient care
