Our client, a Japanese specialized grocery store is now looking for dept assistant managers!
No prior food/supermarket experience is needed - your Retails Floor Lead/Manager experience is highly wanted!

【Position】Dept Assistant Manager

【Compensation】$45K-$60K

【Hiring Style】Direct hiring, Full-time

Responsibilities:

・Manage all operations (procurement, receiving, storage, display, and sales.)
・Ensure freshness and quality of products through proper handling and rotation.
・Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement for replenishment.
・Train, schedule, and supervise the section staff, ensuring adherence to hygiene and safety practices.
・Ensure compliance with all local food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
・Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, display counters, and storage areas.
・Assist customers by providing product knowledge, preparation tips, and handling special requests.
・Monitor pricing, margins, and promotional activities to achieve sales and profitability targets.
・Manage and train the team members

Qualifications:

・High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
・Previous retail or grocery store experience (1–3 years)
・Leadership or supervisory experience a plus
・Strong communication and interpersonal skills
