As an Asset Management Consultant, you would be the lead responsible for robust Bloomberg support which is critical to the management of Securian Asset Management's operations. This role will allow Securian Asset Management to maintain stability of existing operations and add operational improvements over time.
Some duties include:
Serve as first point of contact for critical operational issues with Bloomberg where an immediate support response is required (e.g. execution management). This includes modifications to the trade book, escalating user permissions and resolving reconciliation conflicts.
Build reconciliations of system and associated feeds to ensure accurate representation of prices, cash, and positions inside of Bloomberg system. Automate the examination of system extracts and alert affected users of discrepancies in critical fields.
Drive consolidation of Bloomberg terminal use through automation of key functions outside of the terminal ecosystem and provisioning data using the Bloomberg Data License Request Builder. This entails replication of Bloomberg models outside of the terminal ecosystem (e.g., loan amortization, curve interpolation) enabling more robust model validation and operational risk management procedures.
Drive firmwide Bloomberg analytics development via Excel API, BQNT, and BQLX. This involves creating dashboards driven by real-time Bloomberg data to convey market insights to peers and executive leaders.
Manage access and permissions across the user base to ensure compliance with internal firm standards.
Collaborate with Enterprise Technology and Enterprise Data & Analytics to drive development of future-state data management solutions for Bloomberg and related systems.
Qualifications:
4 year degree in STEM discipline, finance, economics, or a related field.
5-7 years demonstrated experience in risk analytics, data science, quantitative modeling, hedging, etc
Previous experience leveraging Bloomberg data to support investments and risk management functions.
Strong understanding of insurance industry products and associated investment strategies to support them (e.g. portfolio management, ALM, and hedging).
Proven experience with Python and associated libraries, specifically Jupyter, pandas, numpy, and sci-kit learn.
Demonstrated knowledge of AWS-native data management solutions (e.g. RDS, Redshift, etc.) and modern business intelligence solutions (e.g. Alteryx, Tableau, QuickSight, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degree in a STEM discipline, finance, economics, or a related field is a plus.
AWS Certifications in Data Analytics or Machine Learning are a plus.
CFA, FRM, and/or MBA is a plus.
Physical Job Requirements
Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 8 hours per day up to 8 hours per day.
Ability to work at least 40 hours per week
Ability to utilize a phone or teleconferencing platform for up to 2-4 hours per day.
