Job DescriptionA well-established public accounting firm is seeking a Tax Associate to join their growing team.
This firm works closely with individuals, closely held businesses, and high-net-worth clients, providing a mix of compliance and advisory services. The role offers strong exposure to a variety of tax engagements, direct client interaction, and a clear path for growth.
Tax Associate Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations
- Ensure timely and accurate filings in accordance with current tax laws and regulations
- Assist with multi-state filings and compliance requirements
- Work directly with clients to gather financial information and resolve tax-related questions
- Provide support on tax planning strategies and year-round advisory needs
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Conduct tax research and stay current on changing regulations
- Assist in identifying tax-saving opportunities for clients
- Support senior team members on more complex tax engagements
- Work closely with partners and managers on engagement execution
- Assist in improving internal processes and workflows
- Support junior staff as needed during busy season
Tax Associate Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 2–5+ years of public accounting experience with a focus on tax
- EA or CPA-track strongly preferred
- Experience preparing individual and business tax returns (1040, 1065, 1120/1120S)
- Familiarity with tax software (UltraTax, CCH, ProSeries, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
