What You’ll Do:

  • Draft family law pleadings, motions, legal forms, marital settlement agreements, and correspondence.
  • Manage discovery: prepare, organize, and track requests/responses and disclosures.
  • Conduct client intake interviews and gather case information.
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation: organize exhibits, draft chronologies, prep witnesses, and attend hearings when needed.
  • Maintain neat, accurate, and up-to-date case files and legal documents.
  • Monitor court deadlines, key milestones, and case progress.
  • Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel to provide updates and collect required information.
  • Support attorneys during mediation, hearings, and trials.
  • Perform legal research on statutes, case law, and procedural rules.
  • Enter time and case activity contemporaneously in the case management system.
  • Maintain a monthly billable target of 120 hours

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in family law.
  • Strong familiarity with Fairfax County court procedures and surrounding jurisdictions (e.g., Loudoun, Arlington, Prince William, Alexandria).
  • Completed ABA-approved paralegal program; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Paralegal certification or advanced paralegal training is highly desired.
  • Strong drafting and organizational skills with a sharp eye for detail - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—you’re both a team player and a client whisperer.
  • Proficiency with legal research and case management software.
  • Capable of balancing multiple deadlines while staying upbeat and client-focused.
