We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Behavioral Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team.
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Discipline Director of Behavioral Health, the Psychiatry Lead is responsible for coordinating clinical and quality activities across the psychiatry specialty, in addition to providing direct patient care. This role serves as a key liaison between Unity Health Care and the broader community, ensuring best practices and high-quality care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct psychiatric care as a Provider within Unity health clinics.
- Serve as a clinical consultant to other Unity providers on psychiatric and behavioral health issues.
- Coordinate provider coverage within the specialty, in collaboration with site leadership.
- Advise Unity’s Chief Medical Officer (or designee) on the development and revision of policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines.
- Work to improve provider, staff, and patient satisfaction, care quality, and productivity across the system.
- Lead Unity-wide Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives and arrange education/training sessions as needed.
- Participate in monthly Unity-wide QI meetings.
- Facilitate monthly Psychiatry Provider meetings.
- Act as a liaison between Unity and community organizations or stakeholders.
- Communicate and escalate departmental concerns to supervisors as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current DC MD (or NP) license, DEA, and CDS registrations.
- Board Certification in Psychiatry or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
- At least 2 years of experience in an ambulatory care setting.
- Experience working with homeless or medically underserved populations preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong administrative and leadership experience.
- Experience working with underserved or special needs populations is preferred.
- Demonstrated judgment in interacting with diverse patient populations.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
