Position Summary
The Controller will lead all financial operations across the site, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting while maintaining rigorous internal controls. This role plays a critical part in driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making, with oversight of general accounting, cost accounting, financial planning and analysis, and IT.
The ideal candidate brings a hands-on leadership style, strong cost accounting background in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to guide cross-functional teams toward operational and financial excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all financial operations, including general accounting, FP&A, cost accounting, and IT.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintain and refine the plant’s standard cost system to ensure integrity and transparency.
- Provide timely, accurate financial analysis and reporting for major business decisions, including capital expenditures and operational performance.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and reporting tools, leveraging the company’s newly implemented SAP ERP system.
- Deliver financial leadership and business insight to the executive team; participate in strategic decision-making.
- Develop and oversee financial plans, including forecasts, budgets, capital spending, and cash flow management.
- Lead and develop a finance team of 10, promoting high performance, accountability, and career growth.
- Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with corporate policies and audit standards.
- Actively manage working capital, credit, collections, and cash, identifying opportunities to optimize assets and reduce costs.
- Partner with Sales to develop competitive and profitable pricing and quote strategies.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring efficient and accurate reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- Minimum 10 years of progressive financial management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Deep knowledge of accounting theory, GAAP, and financial control best practices.
- Proven experience in standard cost accounting and financial operations within complex manufacturing.
- Strong ERP knowledge—experience with SAP is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership in building, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.
- High energy, hands-on, and deadline-driven leadership style with strong problem-solving skills.
