Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician for an urgent care clinic located in North Ames. The role involves performing lab tests classified under CLIA-88, drawing blood, microscope interpretation, and specimen collection.
Responsibilities
- Perform lab tests in accordance with CLIA-88 standards.
- Draw blood and collect specimens for testing.
- Interpret results using a microscope.
- Maintain accurate records of lab tests and results.
Essential Skills
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
- Experience with swabbing and drawing blood.
- Associate degree in medical laboratory technology or completion of a recognized course of study in Clinical Laboratory Technology.
- Certification, or eligibility for certification, as MLT (ASCP) or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- One year of lab experience is preferred.
Work Environment
The position requires working Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. The clinic offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, a 401(k), and paid time off.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
