We are currently looking to fill a Senior Public Grant Writer role at our Headquarters!

SALARY: The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $64,500 and $71,500 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Research and identify public grant opportunities in alignment with MFS program areas and strategic priorities.
  • Coordinate within the Public Grants Department the accurate tracking of public grant submissions and post-award workflows.
  • Work closely with program leadership and administrative leadership for the development of high-quality public grant applications.
  • Assist with the development of capital applications for MFS centers/ sites.
  • Support the coordination of meetings and site visits with MFS centers and administrative departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of diverse public grant making funders and diverse funder databases for submission of grants.
  • Demonstrated proposal-writing expertise.
  • Experience in government grants development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of obtaining updated information public funders.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined to achieve agreed upon goals.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and networking skills.
  • Ability to make professional presentations, including public speaking.
  • Demonstrated ability to take on projects and to complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision.
  • Dedication to working collaboratively and flexibly within the organization.
  • Ability to perform job duties well within a team.

QUALIFICATONS:

  • A Bachelors' Degree in related field.
  • 3+ years or relevant experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Satisfactorily pass all relevant screenings and criminal background checks.

TRANSPORTAION/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Driving for work preferred with a personally owned vehicle. Travel between sites required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.
