About Us:
We are seeking a highly skilled System Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will troubleshoot system problems, oversee security administration, maintain databases, manage interfaces between systems, perform upgrades, and support over 400+ users.

You will play a key role in ensuring the seamless operation of our IT systems, supporting a headcount of 500–1,000 employees (handheld or other devices / equipment). This position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to contribute to a successful-driven IT environment.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior System Administrator to oversee and enhance our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing servers, networks, cloud platforms, and critical systems, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. This is a hands-on role that requires deep technical knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and Secure Systems:
  • Monitor system logs and server activity.
  • Ensure the secure operation of all servers and services using security and encryption tools.
  • Data Integrity and Backup Management:
  • Perform daily and monthly system backups and file optimization.
  • Develop disaster recovery procedures to maintain operational systems.
  • Network and Systems Administration:
  • Administer Security TLS, PKI Infrastructure, VMWare, ESX, Active Directory, Office365, Azure, SQL Server, SSIS, Cisco voIP, UNIX (HP/UX), LAN/WAN, and Mac operations.
  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core services.
  • Ensure system security through patch management, firewalls, antivirus, and auditing tools.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency via scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.).
  • Recommend and implement technology for efficient operations.
  • Hardware Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hardware including printers, PCs, servers, PDAs, and mobile devices.
  • Manage connectivity devices and network hardware.
  • Task Delegation and Follow-up:
  • Delegate tasks to team members and ensure their completion.
  • Training and Support:
  • Provide structured training and support to System Administrators and Help Desk staff.
  • Project Documentation:
  • Document all SysAdmin projects including design documents, status reports, and summaries.
  • Log all changes to system software and configurations.
  • Supply and Software Management:
  • Assess, evaluate, and process orders for supplies, software, and capital equipment.
  • Maintenance of Specialized Systems:
  • Maintain EDI, Barcode Equipment, RF devices, and data collection systems.
  • Support and train users on various ERP applications.
  • Technical Assistance:
  • Provide technical assistance and respond to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs.
  • User Training and Policy Development:
  • Develop training programs and assist users with PC application installations.
  • Author policies and procedures for areas of responsibility.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in system administration or IT infrastructure roles.
  • Proficiency with Windows Server, Linux (RedHat/CentOS/Ubuntu), and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with cloud platforms and backup (Veeam, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, VPN, VLANs, firewalls).
  • Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Industry certifications are a plus (e.g., MCSE, RHCE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator).

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
