JOB SUMMARY:
Biomedical Services is responsible for the assessment and controls of the clinical and physical risks of fixed and portable equipment used for the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and care of patients, ensuring the continual operations in a safe, calibrated, efficient and functioning properly status of all patient-care and diagnostic equipment. They must work at the highest level of integrity to serve the needs of repairs, installation, of in-house issues or contacting proper personnel to resolve the issue in a very timely manner and also ensure the documentation of safe function of any rented equipment that is used for short-term needs. They maintain complete Preventive Maintenance program as dictated by standards, documenting results, tracking repairs and responsible for securing equipment recalled or involved in sentinel occurrences. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required for Environment of Care reports and JCAHO regulations. Provides superior customer service; key working relationships include all Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital services, including patients, Physicians, clinical staff with the goal of exceeding the customer's expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Satisfactorily completed an accredited 2-year Electronic Tech Training program or an Associate Degree (or higher) in BMET Tech program.
2. Knowledge of NFPA codes, JCAHO requirements, performance verification, preventive maintenance and repair maintenance techniques and procedures.
3. Experience in the use of medical equipment, biomedical test equipment, and electronic test equipment.
4. Attends and actively participates in compliance training, demonstrates understanding of the compliance program.
5. Able to gather, rationalize, evaluate and dispense data or for problem solving requiring repairs or actions taken.
6. Must possess appropriate, valid driver's license and meet requirements and ability to be covered under Grand Itasca's automotive insurance policy.
7. Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
8. Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.
