Summary
The Systems Engineer designs, deploys, and maintains secure, reliable infrastructure with a cloud‑first mindset. The role partners closely with the Endpoint Services Supervisor on workstation standards and endpoint automation, and with Security on hardening and compliance. Primary platforms include AWS, Windows Server, M365/Entra ID, and Intune/MDM. This position is full time and in the office during regular business hours.
THE ROLE
Job Functions
- Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure (networking, compute, storage) aligned with security and compliance requirements
- Automate endpoint provisioning and configuration using Intune/MDM and PowerShell; integrate with CI/CD pipelines where applicable
- Ensure systems and infrastructure availability; implement monitoring, alerting, backup/DR, and capacity planning
- Perform deep‑dive root cause analysis for major incidents; implement preventive measures and update knowledge base content
- Partner with Endpoint Services Supervisor to design, document, and enforce secure workstation standards and golden images
- Collaborate with Security to apply CIS benchmarks, patch management, logging/observability, and identity governance
- Provide technical guidance to support teams; contribute to architecture reviews and project delivery
- Participate in on‑call support as needed
Preferred Talents
- PowerShell expertise and automation‑first mindset; experience with API integrations
- Hands‑on experience with Intune/MDM, Entra ID, M365, and endpoint security (Defender, Purview)
- Strong understanding of compute, storage, networking, backup, and disaster recovery; container orchestration (ECS/EKS)
- Ability to write clear technical documentation and collaborate across teams
Qualifications Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; a degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; 3–5+ years in systems engineering
- Certifications preferred: AWS Solutions Architect Associate or AWS /SysOps Administrator Associate certifications preferred or similar work experience, Microsoft MD‑102/Intune, ITIL Foundation
