This role is ideal for a professional with 2 to 5 years of experience who is actively pursuing architectural licensure (ARE/AXP). You will be entrusted with significant design responsibility, gaining hands-on experience in the critical intersection of architecture and structural engineering.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership: Manage the architectural design from schematic design and design development through the permitting process and final construction.
-
Team and Consultant Coordination: Coordinate with our interior designer and drafter to efficiently produce drawing packages. Also, coordinate with external consultants (civil, MEP, etc.).
-
Client Management: Lead client meetings to gather requirements, present design options, and maintain strong client communication throughout the project.
-
Documentation and Detailing: Produce and coordinate comprehensive Construction Document (CD) sets, focusing on high-quality detailing.
-
Field Work: Perform field verification and measurements of existing conditions, and conduct construction observation duties for projects in the Chicago area.
-
Engineering Integration: Work daily with the Principal Structural Engineer to integrate architectural vision with structural requirements.
-
Permitting: Assist with zoning applications and building permit submissions.

Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an NAAB-accredited university is mandatory.
-
Experience: 2 to 5 years of professional experience working on both residential and commercial properties.
-
Licensure Status: Architectural licensure is NOT required. Candidates must demonstrate a clear intent and be actively enrolled in or working toward the Architectural Experience Program (AXP).
