POSITION DESCRIPTION

Currently, HGLis seeking an Environmental Field Technician II to support the Hill Air Force Base (AFB) Optimized Remediation Contract (ORC) in Ogden, Utah. This project is associated with the basewide remediation of sites across the installation and involves site cleanup, sampling of various media, and operations and maintenance (O&M) of multiple remedial treatments systems, monitoring and injection wells, and related infrastructure.


Responsibilities/Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Daily operation and maintenance of multiple remediation systems under the supervision of a senior technician, including monitoring system performance and repair of mechanical system components when needed.
  • Performing / conducting daily inspections, collection of monitoring and related data, and routine system troubleshooting and sampling.
  • Interacting with other on-site field personnel including environmental technicians, scientists, geologists, and engineers to solve problems and meet project goals.
  • Preparing daily field logs and forms.

Required Skills

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems under the guidance of more senior technicians and managers.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years related experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems is required.
  • Dynamic team member.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications.
  • Ability to commute to the site located at Hill AFB.

Preferred Skills

WHAT YOU NEED TO STAND OUT – Preferred, not required

  • Specific experience working with environmental remediation systems.
  • Environmental monitoring and sampling experience including discrete/composite soil and groundwater sampling, groundwater level measurement, and inspections is a plus.
  • Performance of field activities and environmental construction.
  • Current and valid 40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER certification, up to date annual 8-hr OSHA refresher certification (as applicable).

The pay rate for this position ranges from $24.65 - $35.75/hour. This position's final salary can be impacted by various factors including, but not limited to, contractual requirements, geographic location, job-related education, training, experience, and skills.
