Job DescriptionPart-Time Optometrist (O.D.)

Position SummaryStar Vision Eye Care is seeking a compassionate, clinically skilled, and patient-focused Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care services in a modern, full-scope optometric practice. The ideal candidate is comfortable practicing medical optometry, managing ocular disease, and providing contact lens services while delivering an exceptional patient experience.

Essential Functions• Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction and contact lens evaluations.• Diagnose and manage refractive errors and prescribe appropriate corrective lenses.• Fit, evaluate, and manage contact lenses, including soft lenses, toric, multifocal, and specialty lenses as appropriate.• Provide contact lens follow-up care and patient education on proper lens wear, hygiene, and compliance.• Diagnose, treat, and manage ocular diseases including glaucoma, dry eye, diabetic eye disease, cataracts, and other age-related conditions.• Identify systemic conditions with ocular manifestations and coordinate care with primary care providers and specialists as needed.• Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients (e.g., cataract and LASIK).• Utilize advanced diagnostic technology to support clinical decision-making.• Accurately document patient encounters and treatment plans in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.• Educate patients on treatment plans, preventive care, and visual health.• Collaborate effectively with clinical and optical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality service.• Perform other duties as needed to support practice operations.

Qualifications• Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution.• Active Delaware optometry license in good standing.• Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent (TPA) certification.• Strong clinical skills in comprehensive eye care, contact lens fitting, and medical optometry.• Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of care.• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) and general computer applications.• Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
