Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week | Onsite
Contract Duration: FMLA Coverage through December 2025
Anticipated Start Date: Mid-August 2025
Salary Range: $65,000 – $80,000
About the Role:AnthroMed Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced School Social Worker to join Apple Tree Institute’s dynamic Early Childhood team for a full-time FMLA coverage role through the end of December 2025. Apple Tree is a highly collaborative and mission-driven organization focused on equitable early learning. This role provides the opportunity to serve young learners and their families in a proactive, team-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct services to students with social-emotional or behavioral goals
- Conduct classroom push-in support, behavioral consultations, and assist with crisis response
- Conduct and support development of FBAs, BIPs, and IEPs
- Collaborate regularly with a multidisciplinary team of educators and specialists
- Respond to evaluation and consultation requests from teachers, parents, and other team members
- Support staff and families in implementing strategies that promote positive behavior and engagement
- Contribute to professional development activities offered internally
Caseload & Environment:
- Caseload numbers are TBD and may include students across multiple classrooms
- Team includes 9 social workers across 12 schools, ensuring a highly collaborative setting
- LCSW supervision is available on-site
- School-based office space is available
- Work is focused on proactive behavioral support and early intervention
Qualifications:
- DC DOH Social Work License (LICSW or LGSW required)
- Strong experience with special education, IEPs, behavioral interventions, and early childhood preferred
- Experience conducting FBAs, writing and implementing BIPs, and supporting classroom behavior
- Strong communication, collaboration, and consultation skills
- Candidates without school-based or IEP-related experience will not be considered
