Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) night shift position requiring an active OR license and at least 2 years of CVICU experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in a CVPICU within a Level I Pediatric Trauma, Magnet, and Teaching Hospital
- Night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30) with weekend requirements
- Patient population includes critically ill pediatric cardiac and post-op heart patients, from birth to young adulthood
- Perform bedside procedures such as central and arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubations/extubations, CRRT, ECMO cannulations/decannulations, and emergent operative procedures
- Float within the hospital to NICU and other pediatric units as needed, but not to sister hospitals
- Uses Hamilton G5 ventilators, DirectLink ICP monitors, Artic Sun Targeted Temperature Management, and Baxter Prismaflex machines
- EPIC EMR is used and experience is required
- Scrubs are provided for the OR; no prints allowed
- Responsibilities include providing care for critically ill pediatric cardiac patients and performing advanced bedside procedures
- The unit is supported by a multidisciplinary team including intensivists, respiratory therapists, and child life specialists
- Must be willing to float within the hospital as directed
- All time off requests (RTO) must be submitted upfront and not exceed two weeks
- Return staff must have not worked at the facility for at least 6 months before reapplying as a traveler
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Pre-start learning modules must be completed as assigned
- Holiday coverage may be required

- Active OR RN license required or pending OR license with application submitted to the board
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or post-op pediatric heart experience required
- References from two managers or supervisors within the last 24 months required (charge RN references not accepted)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination required with no exemptions
- First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of PICU experience
- No previous employment with significant background or license incidents allowed
