Position Overview
Bread Alone is on a mission to nourish people and the planet with honest, organic bread. We operate three cafes in the Hudson Valley, sell our housemade pastries and sliced breads in farmers’ markets across NYC, and retail our organic sliced breads in grocery stores across the Northeast.
As we continue to grow, we’re hiring a Senior Content Manager to help lead and execute our brand storytelling and content creation. This role owns the development and execution of content that builds audience connection, supports marketing campaigns, and brings our mission to life across every customer touchpoint. You’ll lead copywriting, editorial direction, and content planning across digital platforms, in-store & cafe signage, email marketing, blog, and social media, working closely with marketing, creatives, external partners and hospitality teams.
The Senior Content Marketing Manager reports to the Chief Brand Officer. While this role does not have direct reports to start, it will oversee agencies, freelancers and creative partners as needed. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and editor, highly organized, collaborative and passionate about good food, storytelling and sustainability.
Hours: This is a full-time Monday - Friday 40/ 50 hour hybrid role. The requirement is a minimum of three days in the office per week in Woodstock, NY.

Requirements:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and lead Bread Alone’s content calendar, ensuring alignment with brand strategy, product launches, promotions and seasonal priorities
- Write, edit and proofread content across all platforms, including website, blog, email, social media, in-store signage, partnerships, public relations, and campaigns
- Own the brand voice, ensuring consistency across digital, print and in-store content
- Oversee day-to-day social media content creation, scheduling, and engagement across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIN and other platforms
- Collaborate with internal and external creatives to produce engaging visual assets (photo, video, graphics) that complement written content
- Partner with the Senior Marketing Manager to support omni-channel campaigns with compelling, brand-aligned copy and creative content
- Manage, analyze and report on content performance, making adjustments based on insights
- Partner with the marketing manager to make SEO-driven content improvements to enhance reach and engagement
- Support influencer and ambassador content needs, ensuring alignment with brand storytelling
- Collaborate with Customer Care to maintain responsive, on-brand community engagement
- Maintain strong project management practices to meet content deadlines and production schedules
- Stay current on content trends, social media best practices, and industry storytelling approaches
- Lead special projects and support brand priorities as assigned

Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in content marketing, copywriting, and brand storytelling with a strong background in content strategy, consumer engagement, and performance tracking. (Preferably in food/CPG or Hospitality.)
- A degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to create and optimize content that drives brand awareness and growth
- Experience with social media management, content analytics and performance optimization
- Experience creating SEO-informed content for blog and website preferred
- Collaborative, highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A passion for organic food, sustainability, and mission-driven brands
- Hands-on, creative, and collaborative mindset
- Respect for and comfort with a diverse and inclusive workplace
- Ability to write and edit content in English and Spanish is preferred

Compensation Details: Bread Alone is deeply committed to ethically balancing the demands of the business and paying a living wage to all those who contribute to our success. Pay for this position is $72,000 to $92,000 annually.
