Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 educational facility in Denver, CO is seeking a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students for a contract position lasting the current school year (CSY). This role is essential to delivering tailored instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, ensuring their academic progress and full participation in school activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Utilize specialized teaching methods and assistive technology to enhance learning
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech therapists, and support staff to promote inclusive education
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
- Provide guidance and support to students families regarding educational goals and resources
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings
- Strong knowledge of assistive listening devices and hearing aid technology
- Ability to create an engaging, accessible classroom environment
- Excellent munication and collaboration skills
