Family and Medical Counseling Service is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to join our amazing team!
Under the supervision of the Patient Access Coordinator, the Patient Access Specialist will answer a high volume of calls and schedule appointments, instruct and assist clients with regard to appropriate scheduling protocols/clinic procedures, and maintain a professional and confidential working environment. The Patient Access Specialist will use initiative, sound judgment, and communication skills to enable efficient and effective use the Patient Access department resources.
Position Highlights
- Schedule Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with occasional evening and Saturday hours
- Team-oriented approach that could include working at the DC or Maryland site
- Answer and evaluate patient need, create telephone encounter and send to appropriate team for resolution, direct phone calls to appropriate site, medical staff or leadership
- Competitive salary range based on experience and qualification
- Greet clients as they enter the lobby and assist with service area kiosk check-in.
- General clerical duties scanning, photocopying, faxing, mailing, completing registration packets
- Attend relevant meetings to support overall program implementation and growth
- Attend training and learning opportunities that expand content knowledge and best practices
- Discreetly handles and enters sensitive personal confidential information while adhering to FMCS's HIPAA guidelines ensuring the proper handling of sensitive information.
- Perform responsibilities with the required Customer Service standards
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Meets key metrics important for goals and benchmark data
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Electronic Medical Record experience; eCW is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal communication, customer service and telephone equites skills
- Minimum of one-year experience in an office setting, preferably a medical office setting
