Job DescriptionQuality Assurance Manager (Behavioral Health)

Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid - 3 days onsite / 2 remote)

Salary: ~$80,000 annually

Schedule: Full-time, Exempt

LHH is assisting a mission-driven behavioral health organization is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead compliance, quality improvement initiatives, and regulatory oversight across programs. This role partners closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to healthcare standards and continuous operational excellence.

Regulatory Compliance & Quality Management

  • Ensure compliance with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory bodies (e.g., HIPAA, state and county health agencies, accreditation organizations)
  • Oversee clinical documentation standards, EHR compliance, data integrity, and reporting requirements
  • Lead preparation for audits, site visits, and credentialing processes
  • Conduct ongoing compliance monitoring and risk mitigation

Audits & Reporting

  • Perform internal chart audits and quality reviews to meet regulatory and best practice standards
  • Support external audits and collaborate with governing agencies
  • Monitor billing accuracy, service documentation, and program compliance
  • Analyze and report quality metrics and incident data to leadership

Training & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Provide training and guidance to clinical and administrative staff on documentation, compliance, and billing requirements
  • Partner with leadership, clinicians, and operational teams to improve workflows and quality outcomes
  • Participate in leadership meetings and support organization-wide initiatives

Incident & Data Management

  • Oversee incident reporting processes and ensure timely, compliant submissions
  • Monitor trends and provide actionable insights to improve service delivery and compliance
  • Experience in behavioral health quality management, compliance, or utilization review
  • Strong knowledge of Medi-Cal (or similar public healthcare programs) and accreditation standards (e.g., The Joint Commission)
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams (clinical, administrative, and leadership stakeholders)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Ability to lead initiatives and function as a hands-on supervisor
