An opportunity exists for dedicated professionals to make a significant impact within an elementary school setting in Amsterdam, NY, for the upcoming school year. This contract position focuses on providing specialized speech-language pathology services to students, addressing their unique communication needs.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
• Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged children
• Strong assessment and intervention skills
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Current state licensure to practice as an SLP

Location:

• Amsterdam, NY
• Primarily onsite at various elementary schools, including Ft. Plain, Johnstown, Gloversville, and Mayfield

Responsibilities:

• Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for students with speech and language disorders
• Develop and implement tailored IEPs in collaboration with educators and families
• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to promote effective communication skills
• Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student needs and progress
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of services provided
• Engage with parents and guardians to support student communication goals
