Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized treatment programs for patients with physical impairments, injuries, or disabilities. The role focuses on improving mobility, reducing pain, and restoring functional independence while ensuring high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients’ physical conditions, mobility, strength, and functional abilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
  • Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and rehabilitation techniques
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, exercises, and recovery goals
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Ensure compliance with clinical standards, safety protocols, and regulations
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient care initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree
  • Active Physical Therapist license (State of South Dakota or compact license)
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and patient care practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in hospital, outpatient, or rehabilitation settings
  • Experience with diverse patient populations (orthopedic, neurological, etc.)
  • Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills

Work Environment & Requirements:

  • Onsite role
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist patients for extended periods
  • Ability to lift or support patients during therapy sessions
  • Fast-paced clinical environment

  • Maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
  • Participate in ongoing training and competency assessments
