Position Overview
We are a fast-growing firm committed to delivering holistic, tax-efficient financial solutions. We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Tax Preparer/CPA to join our team. This role is pivotal in integrating tax planning with investment advisory services, ensuring clients receive coordinated, forward-looking financial guidance.
The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in tax preparation and compliance, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for empowering clients through strategic tax planning.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Preparation & Compliance
• Prepare and review individual (1040), business (1120, 1065), trust, and estate tax returns
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
• Respond to IRS and state agency notices and represent clients when necessary
• Maintain accurate documentation and client records in accordance with firm policies
Strategic Tax Planning
• Collaborate with financial advisors to develop tax-efficient distribution strategies (e.g., Roth conversions, RMD planning, bracket management)
• Analyze retirement income plans to identify tax-saving opportunities
• Participate in annual tax projection meetings and year-end planning sessions
Client Engagement & Education
• Review client financial data and understand goals
• Communicate complex tax concepts in a clear, empowering manner
• Provide proactive updates and reminders regarding tax deadlines and planning opportunities
Internal Collaboration & Workflow
• Coordinate with advisory and operations teams to ensure seamless client experience
• Track workflow status and contribute to process improvements
• Stay current with tax law changes and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
Qualifications
• CPA designation preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience in tax preparation, preferably in a financial advisory or public accounting setting
• Proficiency in tax software (e.g., UltraTax, Drake, or similar) and financial planning tools (e.g., Holistiplan, RightCapital)
• Strong understanding of retirement planning concepts and tax-efficient withdrawal strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to client confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism
