We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Optician to join our team 3 to 4 days a week - Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and Thursday. We are closed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, plus all major holidays. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting patients with their eyewear needs, providing exceptional service in both clinical and retail settings. This role requires an understanding of optical products and excellent communication skills. Pay will be determined based on experience in the optical field.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses that best fit their needs and lifestyle.
- Assist with pre-testing
- Conduct measurements for eyeglass fittings and ensure accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Provide education on proper eyewear care and maintenance.
- Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Process insurance claims and manage medical billing as necessary.
- Collaborate with optometrist and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Manage inventory of optical products and assist with retail sales operations.
- Assist with operations for EOF Optical brands: Eyes of Faith, EOF United, and ZIVAH
- Stay updated on the latest trends in eyewear technology and fashion.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a clinic or retail sales environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical billing processes is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of optometry practices and laboratory procedures related to eyewear.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
