Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available to provide support to middle school students receiving homebound services in Greenville, SC. This contract position runs from ASAP through May 22, 2025, and offers a part-time, hourly schedule. The selected candidate will work closely with one or more middle school students who are homebound, supporting their educational needs in a specialized setting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of homebound middle school students
- Deliver instructional support in alignment with state standards and students unique learning goals
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support for each student
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and communicate updates regularly with stakeholders
- Adapt instructional materials and methods to accommodate various disabilities and learning styles
- Ensure compliance with South Carolina education regulations and district policies regarding special education and homebound services
Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina Educator Certification with Multi-Categorical or Intellectual Disabilities endorsement or specialty
- Experience working with middle school-aged special education students, preferably in homebound or alternative educational settings
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
