Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Position Framework
This role provides 36-37.5 hours of weekly instruction serving high school students in grades 9-12. You'll work with a focused caseload of 38-48 students, emphasizing college and career preparation, independent living skills, and transition planning within our advanced virtual learning environment.
Advanced Teaching Responsibilities
Your duties enpass developing rigorous academic curricula, implementing transition services coordination, and providing specialized instruction in self-advocacy skills. You'll facilitate virtual internship programs, conduct college preparation workshops, and maintain partnerships with munity organizations. Supporting post-secondary planning and workforce readiness are primary objectives.
Essential Professional Credentials
Michigan DHH teaching license and Master's degree in Secondary Special Education with deaf/hard of hearing specialization are required. Candidates need 2+ years of high school experience with deaf and hard of hearing populations. Knowledge of transition services, vocational assessment, and post-secondary support systems enhances applications.
Advanced Technology Skills
Expertise with career exploration software, virtual job shadowing platforms, and online college preparation resources supports prehensive instruction. Experience with assistive technology assessment, workplace acmodation planning, and digital portfolio development ensures student success.
