Best Homecare is hiring for a PRN (as needed) experienced in-home caregiver position in Clinton, Oak Ridge, Harriman, Rockwood, Lancing, Kingston, Oliver Springs and Ten Mile Areas. Specific Shifts available may vary and are available to pick up permanently. Hours for most cases vary from 4 hours per day up to 12 hours per day. Experience is Required. Please review the following job description outlining the expectations we require from all our Non-Medical Staff.
SUMMARY
A Home Care Home Health Aide provides personal care to home care clients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Reports to the Administrator and Director of the Agency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following; however other duties may be assigned:
Assists home care patients with personal care, transfers in and out of bed, ambulation, and with use of the bedpan:
· Performs activities in a manner consistent with home health aide training and as guided by registered nurse supervisor;
· Seeks direction from the registered nurse case manager or Director of Client Services or designee, when needed;
· Encourages the client to become as independent as possible within medically determined limitations and according to the nursing care plan;
· Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to Agency safety and infection control policies and procedures;
· Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to the principles of good body mechanics.
Plans, shops and prepares nutritionally sound meals and/or special diets as ordered by the physician:
· Always performs tasks in a manner consistent with instructions according to plan of care;
· Always considers client’s preferences within limits of diet.
Provides medication reminders for medications that are ordinarily self-administered:
· Performs activity in a manner consistent with state regulations and with Home Health Aide training.
Assists with prescribed exercises with clients and aides have been taught by appropriate health personnel:
· Performs activity according to instructions;
· Reports client tolerance to registered nurse or therapist, as appropriate;
· Documents exercises accurately.
Reports changes in the client’s condition and needs:
· Always demonstrates sound judgment;
· Consistently reports changes to registered nurse or case manager in a timely manner.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS:
· Education: Agency required training for Home Health Aide Certification.
· Experience and Skills: Previous home health care experience preferred.
· Certificates/Licenses/and/or Registrations, etc.: Home Health Aide Certification after Agency Training.
· Other Requirements: Clean drug screen and criminal background report; Reliable automobile; Tennessee Driver’s License for all personal support workers that accept shifts requiring transportation services; Clean MVR report when providing transportation services; Evidence of automobile insurance when providing transportation services; shall be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Client's Home, Travel time.
PHYSICAL AND OTHER DEMANDS: Employee is required to hear, speak, sit, stand, and walk daily. Employee may lift up to 50 pounds.
