Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handler - Shipper/Receiver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will complete orders by retrieving and moving materials, receive/ship product, ensure accurate inventory, timely and accurately completing the required paperwork associated with the movement of product. Overall responsibility of the warehouse. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently.
Duties
- Loading and unloading trucks and distributing freight in the proper area.
- Verify the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming material.
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
- Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for all visitors and workers
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
- Responsible for inventory control functions.
- Provides support to production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet production schedules.
- May be assigned facilities preventive maintenance duties as needed.
- Sweep, dust, mop and organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
- Wear the proper safety equipment.
- Loading of outbound trucks and documentation of compliance.
- Inspect equipment daily at the start of shift ensuring all safety features are operational.
- Other duties as needed.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and RF scanners.
- Forklift operation experience.
- A minimum of one year of prior warehouse experience
- This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
- Will be required to frequently stand, walk and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must have the ability to work independently, or in a team, in a warehouse and production line environment.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of inbound and outbound procedures.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel
- Must be punctual and regular attendance is required.
- Ability to understand and follow company policies.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods of time.
- English required. Bi-lingual a plus.
- Problem solving skills.
