Lead Medical Assistant - Regional Clinic Coordinator
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Pay: $21.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, standard business hours (flexible start times between 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM)
Employment Type: Full-Time | In-Person | Scrubs Required
Position Overview:
A well-established outpatient healthcare group is seeking a dynamic and adaptable Medical Assistant to join their Clinic Coordinator team. This is a role blending clinical responsibilities, front-office support, and light operational oversight across a small group of clinics (3 locations within a designated region).
This opportunity is ideal for a certified MA looking to step into a leadership-style position, expand into operations, and take on broader responsibilities across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a lead resource across 3 clinic locations, ensuring smooth daily operations and consistent process adherence

Provide both clinical and front-office coverage as needed to support staff absences or high-volume days

Support day-to-day functions, identify workflow gaps, and contribute to process improvement efforts
Medical Assistant (Back Office) Duties:

Chart prep, patient rooming, vitals, medical histories

Assisting with wound care, dressing changes, sutures/staples, and x-rays

Training provided for casting, brace fittings, and diabetic shoe support

Placing orders, prior authorizations, and updating medical records
Front Office Duties:

Greeting and registering patients, validating insurance and ID information

Reviewing charts before appointments and ensuring all documents are on file

Handling co-pays, patient check-ins/outs, and updating digital records (fax system is online)

Occasional phone support (inbound calls only when routed from the front desk)
Growth Opportunity:

After 1 year of consistent performance, company-paid certification in imaging/x-ray

Exposure to clinic operations and leadership-great stepping stone toward supervisor roles
Qualifications:
-
Medical Assistant diploma or certification (required)

1+ year of front and back office MA experience preferred

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Comfortable navigating EMRs (experience with any EMR accepted; iSalus training provided)

Willingness to travel between assigned offices with reliable transportation
Work Environment & Expectations:

Scrubs required (any appropriate color/pattern)

Closed-toe shoes mandatory
