Robotics Technician | Walker, MI

Salary Range: $61,000 - $93,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and calibration on industrial robotic systems.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues in manufacturing robots.
  • Install, configure, and commission new robotic equipment and peripheral devices.
  • Program and fine-tune robot paths, logic, and tooling for production processes.
  • Conduct emergency repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system configurations accurately.
  • Ensure all robotic operations comply with safety standards and company protocols.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Proven proficiency in programming, teaching, and troubleshooting industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA).
  • Strong electrical and controls troubleshooting skills, including PLCs, HMI, sensors, and motor controls.
  • Experience with mechanical repair, adjustment, and preventive maintenance of robotic systems and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial robot vision systems setup and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in robot simulation software (e.g., RoboDK, Process Simulate).
  • Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet).
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g., Python) for data analysis or custom tool development.
