Job Summary

Responsible for Daily Raw Material and Finished Goods Material Inspections (CofAs, Analytical & Organoleptic, etc.). Assist Quality Control Manger with daily operational responsibilities. Conduct HACCP checks (Approval Form, CCP #1, etc.) while complying with Food Safety Programs (Good Manufacturing Processes [GMP], SOP, SSOP & HACCP, as applies) & maintaining a clean & organized workplace. Responsible for Food Defense. Conform to Food Safety Culture.

Major Responsibilities

  • Assist Quality Control Manager by conducting daily tasks per procedures and / or make judgments on the acceptability of the raw and finished products and enforces quality standards
  • Checks raw materials and finished products organoleptically and scientifically (micro, moisture, etc.) according to product specification (ro-tap, sizing, etc.)
  • Adjusts and compares flavors and colors of new products against recent retains of no more than 6 months old
  • Determines the quality or stability of products in stock and returned goods through routine QC testing (may involve sampling)
  • Execute Quality Assurance programs by processing HACCP Programs related to the Laboratory and Production areas (Pest Control)
  • Quality Control Information Data Entry, Filing & Organization
  • Maintenance of Quality Control Reference Samples (Organization & Updating)
  • Must be cross trained with “Quality Control Inspector” responsibilities
  • Perform any other duties as requested by Management
  • Performs other Customer Service, Sales or Purchasing duties as needed
  • Compliance with company policies and procedures for the Food Defense Program and the GMP and Glass programs

Preferred Knowledge and Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent or minimum two years’ related experience
  • Knowledge of food safety principles, including GMP and HACCP
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain accurate records
  • Strong Communication skills
  • B.S. in Food Science / Chemistry or related field preferred.
  • Preferably experience working in industry regulated by FDA
