LOAN OPERATIONS MANAGER

SUMMARY:

The Loan Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the loan servicing department, ensuring timely and accurate loan processing, documentation, and portfolio maintenance. This leadership role plays a key part in supporting the bank’s lending team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and enhancing operational efficiency. The manager leads a team of loan operations professionals and fosters a culture of accuracy, accountability, and service excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and supervise the loan operations team, including training, performance management, and workflow delegation.
  • Oversee all aspects of loan servicing functions, including booking, funding, payments, payoffs, collateral tracking, and post-closing documentation.
  • Ensure all loan files and documentation are complete, accurate, and in compliance with bank policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with lending staff to support new loan originations, renewals, modifications, and servicing requests.
  • Maintain and improve loan systems and procedures to ensure efficient, secure, and scalable operations.
  • Act as liaison with auditors, regulators, and external vendors related to loan operations.
  • Monitor key loan reports and reconcile data as needed to maintain loan portfolio integrity.
  • Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and lead implementation efforts.
  • Stay informed of regulatory changes impacting loan operations and ensure department compliance.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in loan operations or related banking functions, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
  • Deep understanding of lending compliance, loan documentation, and servicing standards (consumer, commercial, real estate).
  • Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, collaborative management style.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in banking systems and loan documentation software; experience with Fiserv/Navigator, LaserPro, Teslar and/or Laserfiche a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Extended periods of time sitting at a desk and using office equipment.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer/laptop for approximately 8 hours per day.
  • Extended time is spent reviewing physical and electronic documents.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Periodically, may also do light lifting of supplies and materials.
