Job Summary
Director of Event Operations is responsible for establishing a professional customer-focused atmosphere for all clients and staff. The individual in this role with lead the team in the day-to-day operations that encompass Meeting planning, Event Set-up, and Customer Care in delivering a seamless experience at a world class organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide an elevated level of planning and customer experience perpetuating a One Stop Shop customer service model.
- Lead the Meeting Planning, Event Set-up and Customer Care Team
- Collaborate with on-site team, leadership, clients, and service partners to design and coordinate event planning, meeting setups, in all aspects of the meeting experience.
- Ensure seamless execution for high-profile events such as Annual Meetings and Spring Meetings.
- Provide a consistent high-level service in all areas to ensure guest satisfaction KPIs are achieved:

- Train and mentor staff to deliver Platinum Service in every guest interaction.
- Adjust and make recommendations to processes when areas are not meeting standards.
- Ensure staff are engaged and involved in individual and team building programs
- Communicate effectively with peers, displaying accuracy and attention to detail both in verbal and written communications.
- Maintain a strong awareness of business activity and communicate all updates with your team members and clients.
- Develop, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures and customer-facing documents on client network.
- Complete internal audits on guest service functions to ensure client specific standards are met.
- Complete all daily, weekly, or monthly reports and submit them accurately and on time.
- Communicate and interact effectively with all other departments ensuring a cohesive service experience.
- Proactive, timely and clear communication to team and leadership.
- Work with EMS or any other Space Management Tool.
- Can creatively solve space conflicts and/or find solutions to space constraints.
- Observe floor operations, user behaviors and suggest strategic changes to continue enhancing the experience on the floor.
- Compile and analyze data to find patterns, trends, gaps and opportunities in the business and track team productivity.
- Oversee all P&L and budgeting as it pertains to the account.
- Manages overall day-to-day operations of the account.
- Conducts HR functions including hiring, progressive counseling, and terminations.
- Oversees scheduling, payroll, and team training.
- Maintains excellent relationships with customers, guests, and Client as well as other departments.

- A genuine sense of hospitality, with a commitment to delivering a memorable experience in all aspects of the role.
- The ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and juggling many jobs simultaneously, while constantly interacting with visitors in a public environment.
- Excellent listening and oral communication skills.
Punctual, dependable, and dedicated to achieving operational excellence, down to the smallest of details. - Discreet, ethical, and committed to maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
- A consistently professional approach, with a mindset to take ownership and responsibility within and outside one’s job domain.
- Bachelor’s degree, hospitality preferred.
- Five years events/conference center experience
