Temporary Certified Phlebotomy Technician

Location: El Cajon and San Ysidro CA
Travel/Other Requirements: May require staffing coverage at other facilities as needed
Driver’s License: Valid, clean, and clear required

Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) to join our team on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in medical laboratory procedures, excellent patient interaction skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens safely and accurately
• Properly label, handle, and process specimens according to protocol
• Maintain patient comfort and provide clear instructions during procedures
• Follow all safety and infection control standards
• Assist with laboratory tasks as needed

Experience Required

• Preferred 1–2 years of medical laboratory experience as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
• Proficient in medical terminology

Education & Certification Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Current California State Phlebotomy License
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate

Language Requirements

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
