Job Title: Full-Time Forklift Maintenance Technician / Material Handling Service Specialist
Location: Secaucus, NJ
Salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year (based on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time/ direct hire

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Forklift Maintenance Technician to support our operations and serve as a key Material Handling Service Specialist. This role requires strong technical skills in forklift and material handling equipment maintenance, along with managerial experience to lead service operations and support a growing team. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of forklift brands and material handling equipment

  • Oversee the service schedule to ensure timely preventative maintenance and equipment uptime.

  • Lead and supervise a team of technicians or service staff, ensuring high performance and safety compliance.

  • Order and manage parts inventory for repairs and maintenance jobs.

  • Provide on-site support to operations, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure minimal downtime.

  • Maintain accurate service records, work logs, and safety checklists.

  • Collaborate with operations leadership to optimize equipment performance and workflow.

  • Train junior technicians as needed and assist with technical onboarding.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in forklift or industrial equipment maintenance.

  • 2+ years of managerial or supervisory experience in a technical or service role preferred but not required.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.

  • OSHA certification or other safety training is a plus.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
